Arne Petersen, founder and dev eloper of Taino Beach Resort & Clubs, played a significant role in the timeshare and vacation ownership industry in Freeport. He also became the single largest owner of timeshare properties in Grand Bahama Island. Arne was an active member in the Bahamas Vacation Ownership Timeshare Council, and a major driving force in the development of current Bahamas Time-Share Legislation. Denmark was his country of birth, but the Bahamas was his country of choice. Arne was born on May 4, 1936 in the small town of Mollerup, in Central Jutland. In 1977, he was granted Bahamian citizenship and became totally assimilated in the Bahamian culture and its way of life

It is with absolute certainty that all those who have known Arne recognize the great contributions he made to the development of the Taino Beach Resort & Clubs and we wish to assure you that we are fully committed to the continuance of his legacy. Arne passed away February 9th, 2003.

The appointed Board of Directors is co-chaired by the founder’s sons:
Soren Petersen and Sean Basden. They and the Board, are fully
committed to the fulfillment of Arne’s dream and his visionary plans for
Taino Beach, Ritz Beach, and Coral Suites resorts; the Flamingo Bay
and Emerald Palms Hotels; the marina, beach club, watersports and
tours center; and the travel and member service centers.
According to his boys. "Arne's hard work and dedication over the last three decades will surely continue and we look forward to welcoming you back again and again to Taino Beach Resort & Clubs."
